Device (Device Registration & Delete)

The Devices menu allow you to add device on your site (registering installed Airfob devices to your site), which is a key feature of the Airfob Pro app. You will also need to use the Airfob Pro app to delete an already registered device.
You can also remotely check the connection and operation status of registered devices and edit their information.

In this article, you'll learn 1) how to register your Airfob devices and 2) how to manage them in the Airfob Pro app.

Register a Airfob Device

Adding devices is one of the core features of the Airfob Pro app. After a new installation of a device, it can be registered to a site via Bluetooth communication with the Airfob Pro app.
In most cases, registration is handled by the service provider during installation or site creation, but you can do it yourself as an administrator.

When registering a reader it MUST be connected to an ethernet cable with an active internet connection. This is necessary so the reader can receive the site certificate. After registering a reader successfully it does not need to be connected to the internet to work with Airfob Space mobile credentials, but it must be connected to the internet to use RFID cards.

1) Select the device group where the device will be include. If you select a pre-created device group the device will be included in that device group upon registration.
2) Click the + button in the upper right corner.
3) For a moment, the devices installed in the proximity are searched.
4) The Register button will be activated only if the device's power and network are normal, and the device is not registered in other sites.
5) If you want to automatically create a door at the same time as registering the device, keep the toggle on the pop-up screen green and click Confirm button.
6) To register the device without creating a door, click the toggle on the pop-up to turn it grey and press Confirm.
7) When you see the device registration success notification, you can go back to the list to manage the device's status and information.

※ If you are registering a device with Airfob Patch, you cannot create a door, the door toggle will be displayed in the disabled state, tap Confirm to complete the device registration.

What is a door?

Doors represnet the physical entry points or access points in a building. Each door can have one or more devices installed on it. For Airfob devices installed on a door, it's convenient to create the door at the same time as registering the device.
If you have more than one device installed on a door, create a door for only one device. If you turn the toggle to gray when you register the remaining devices will not create a door, and you can edit the door information from the Airfob Pro portal.
If an Airfob device is installed to control an elevator, you should not create a door. Learn more about doors.

Manage the Device Status

The Device menu helps you to check if each registered device on the site is functioning properly and manage them easily by groups.
You can check the device connection status for each device by the colour of the dot that appears to the left of the device.
Green: The device is well connected.
Red: The device has a connection problem.

Deleting a registered device

If you want to delete a device that is already registered on the site, you must do so through the Airfob Pro app.
If you delete a device from the Registered Devices menu of the Airfob Pro portal, it may not be completely deleted.

To delete a device, the device must have a normal power and network connection. If you are removing the Airfob device, please delete the device first before removing it.
Try using a smartphone running the Airfob Pro app and an Airfob device in close proximity that can communicate via Bluetooth.

1) Find the device you want to delete in the list.
2) Click the ◦◦◦ icon to the right of the device.
3) Click the Delete device button.
4) On the pop-up screen, select whether you want to delete the associated door.
5) Click Delete and the device will be completely deleted from the site. You can reinstall and register it to reuse it at any time.

※ If there are other devices connected to the door containing the device you want to delete, the door will not be deleted immediately. You need to edit the door information first from the Airfob Pro portal.
