The sensitivity setting feature allows you to directly adjust the sensitivity of Bluetooth recognition between the Airfob device and your smartphone.
Different smartphone models have different strengths of Bluetooth signals. As a result, Airfob Space users may feel differently about how close they need to bring their smartphone to the Airfob device to successfully authenticate their mobile card. To increase user convenience, users can try to authenticate their own mobile cards and adjust the Bluetooth authentication sensitivity accordingly.
※ The environment of the space where the Airfob device is installed may also affect the distance between the smartphone and the device that can be recognized by Bluetooth.
In this article, you can see how to adjust the authentication sensitivity of your smartphone.
How to adjust the Sensitivity Setting
Different smartphones have different default Bluetooth strengths. So, you can adjust the Bluetooth authentication sensitivity to suit your smartphone and your comfort level.
1) Oepn the Airfob Space app.
2) Touch the ≡ icon in the top right corner of the screen.
3) On the menu, tap the Sensitivity Setting button.
4) Adjust the sensitivity by moving the green circle as needed.
Near : If your smartphone's Bluetooth strength is strong enough that your mobile card is often authenticated even when you don't want it to be (causing you to open the door unwantedly), or if your desk is close to the door and you are frequently authenticated, move the green circle closer to Near. You can lower the sensitivity of Bluetooth authentication between your smartphone and the Airfob device.
Far : If your smartphone's Bluetooth strength is weak and authentication is not successful when you bring the smartphone relatively close to the Airfob device, move the green circle closer to Far. You can increase the sensitivity of the Bluetooth authentication between your smartphone and the Airfob device.
※ Tip for iOS user
If you're using Apple Pay on your smartphone, you may notice that when you bring your smartphone close to an Airfob device, Apple Pay launches at the same time as mobile card authentication (opening the door).
This happens when the NFC area of the smartphone is touched. Even if the Apple Pay app is running, the door can be opened normally, but it can be annoying to have Apple Pay launch frequently.
In this case, if you adjust the sensitivity setting to Far, the Airfob device will recognize your smartphone's Bluetooth quickly and sensitively from a slightly further distance than before, so you can avoid touching your smartphone's NFC area to the device. You can use your mobile card without Apple Pay running at the same time.
